OMEN and its Network Provides Leadership and
Vital Services in Challenging Times
The current recession has made OMEN’s services more crucial than ever before. OMEN and its network of small business development experts have been supporting Oregon’s entrepreneurs for over 10 years with substantial success. OMEN and its members are committed to serving entrepreneurs at various stages of development, and providing value‐added services to ensure they succeed. With more and more Oregonians finding themselves in need of OMEN and its members’ services, your support is critical to our ability to continue to grow our economy through entrepreneurship and sustainable job creation.
The organizations in OMEN’s network collectively served over 12,000 entrepreneurs in 2009, helping them create 623 new jobs and retain 2,032 during the year. OMEN provided capacity‐building VISTA volunteers to twenty organizations throughout Oregon, who generated nearly $200,000 in new funding for their host organizations in 2009. In the same time period, OMEN helped over 200 entrepreneurs access new markets to increase their financial sustainability. Over 30 entrepreneurs accessed capital through OMEN to grow their business, in a time when many financial institutions closed their doors to small business owners. Your assistance today helps OMEN, the local small business owner and often the household next door. Thank you for your sustained support!
